Is this Empire Mag's list of the best or something? I normally say I haven't watched much tv, but I have seen at least one episode of all but two of those shows.

Yep, it's Empire's list of 50 Greatest TV Shows. I don't actually agree with chunks of the list. Some of the shows are too recent to know if they'll have a lasting impact. But angriest is now trying to compile a separate list from people. I look forward to seeing how that turns out.

Which two haven't you seen?

Only Fools and Horses and Deadwood are the only two I haven't seen anything of. I haven't seen very much of a lot of them, but you're right about a bunch of them being too recent to tell. And star trek in three places? And the simpsons is the best show ever? really? and where is MASH?

Tell you what though, how much is that list aimed at me or at least people my age? A bunch of comedy, sf and a bit of crime pretty much describes my tv watching and dvd collection.

Deadwood is rather good. A very dark, nasty, take on the old west, with a fair bit of genuine history mixed in.

Now I'm curious though. What would you say are the highlights of your DVD collection?

Honestly most of the DVDs I own are movies.

House and Torchwood!
or does highlights mean the best rather than the most watched?
I snarfed all tristans dvds and copied his hard drive when he left. So i have a LOT of old school Doctor Who and Numbers even though I haven't watched it all.
Firefly, Scrubs, Blackadder, Fry and Laurie, House, Torchwood and Dr Who and Invader Zim would be the stuff I'd not want to lose, put it that way.

Did I ever thank you for introducing me to Invader Zim? Thank you. There is a hostel in belfast that still has a disc of it for bored visitors.

Re: Honestly most of the DVDs I own are movies.

Highlights meant your favs.

Our tastes are so very similar. Numbers I've never watched, other than that, the only ones I wouldn't buy for myself out of that list is House and Torchwood. Watch, yes, own, no.

Glad Zim made a lasting impression. It's good stuff.

At some point you'll have to come up for a visit and have a perv on my DVD collection. Give you a chance to discover more stuff.

Re: Honestly most of the DVDs I own are movies.

Hah, House is one of the things I watch over and over again. I think i have seen seasons one and two so often that i can speak along to entire episodes. Of course, the fact that I couldn't turn the captions off the first six or so times I watched it improved my memory of it. When I'm not feeling too well I just put on House and nap in front of the tv. Which I think is because it was the only thing at my parents house when I first got back after Ireland and didn't sleep for three days -- so I just watched house.

I have both seasons of Spaced... The series was a gift from a friend. I'd been hunting it for years... Smile.
