I mentioned Mr. Bill in a recent comment to someone, which then prompted me to go looking for him on Youtube. The trials of this small plasticine man aren't to everyoone's tastes, but twenty years later, I still love him.

WTF? They're now putting the google ads *in* the movies? And in spite of a little x they don't seem to be able to be removed.

Did they? That's a bit rough! I bet Sluggo has taken over Youtube.

Apparently it was done to a few videos starting in 2007 and they called it 'unobtrusive'. I can't say as I found it particularly unobtrusive and does not mix well with the later pop up similar movies at the bottom bit that I think got added later and makes it almost impossible to click the ad off. Whether they have abandoned doing this I don't know. I went and checked some more recent stuff (interview with Matt Smith) and it didn't appear there.

The show that stuck in my head was Shirl's Neighbourhood show ,the problem is the only characters that I remembered distinctly from that show was Claude the Crow and of course Shirl .

I found it very cool when my Nanna bought us the Beach towels with Claude on them .

I thought of you yesterday when I was watching a Keith Olbermann video, and suddenly there was Mr. Bill!

(The video can be seen here. Mr. Bill's brief appearance is about 7:15 in, but the whole thing is worth watching at least once.)

I love Olbermann, and while I had already seen it, having the link is good. It's a great damning of Bush's time in office.
