Cocky roos [Apr. 5th, 2007|11:15 pm]
dalekboy
The last two days I avoided hitting a long-beaked Black Cockatoo, and didn't avoid hitting a 'roo.

As far as we can tell, all victims were not too badly injured.

Am very tired. Have a panel at 10:30. May not make it.

I don't know what it is about my Camaro, but it seems to attract felines into the middle of the streets at night. Some of those were very VIOLENT encounters, almost nightmarish.
Also, weiner dogs attack it on sight in the parking lot for some reason. I saw one being walked by a lady and the little dog latched on to the front tire fully intent on ripping that car to shreds. That was cute!
How much damage did the car take there?

No damage to the car and hopefully not much more than a bruise and a fright for the 'roo.

I was getting tired, it was dark and a little foggy, so I'd slowed my speed to match what I figured to be my reaction times, and varying depending on the visibility. I was probably doing between 60 and 75 when the roo started across the road just a little way in front. I hit the brakes, swerved, and would have been down to somewhere between 40 and 60 by the time the roo hit the driver's side door.

When we stopped and went back, there was no sign of the roo, so hopefully it was more or less ok.

Ah, good. He should be all right aside from some bumps and bruises if he bounced off the side of your car.
